A Black Feather, A poison pen... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More randomness Atrios and Orcinus have given this one some play and i'll admit that, being a latecomer to the whole political commentary field, i'm playing catch-up on a lot of issues, with my day job bleeding beyond the borders of the 9 to 5 schedule, but here's someone at the New York Times (free registration required) with an op-ed piece about Right-wing, Amerian terrorists and posing the question of "Why aren't we hearing more about this sort of thing, especially when they came from the President's home state?" Of course today is going down on the calendar as National Republican Orgasm day, but as i mentioned, a couple of hours ago in the last entry, it's not as if the whole of the Iraq insurgency is just going to evaporate now that Saddam is caught, because i think it's safe to say (for lack of a better preface) that whatever resistance our military is meeting is composed of more elements than just people who are pro-Saddam update on previous entry: - Okay, so i let my cynicism get the better of me, but more coverage has me almost convinced that the Baghdad explosion really was just an accident. Besides, wasn't the rationale behind this whole exercise something about Weapons of Mass Destruction or some shit like that? As far as i can tell, we haven't turned up any of those yet, and somehow, as I recall, the bar got lowered in mid-jump from the actual "Weapons" to "Weapons programs" and so far the majority of the "programs" we found evidence of pre-date the sanctions and the first Gulf War. In other words, for the most part, all we know about Iraq's WMD programs is what Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld helped them secure when he was Reagan's special envoy to Baghdad Meanwhile, in the CD player are the following discs:
