A Black Feather, A poison pen...

Let's put our so-called \"Liberally Biased\" media to the test

Have Timmy Russert ask President Bush why he doesn't remove John McCain fron the commission he's appointed to look into the so-called "Intelligence Failures" when McCain's remarks at a conference in Germany over the past couple of days suggest he has already made up his mind about the issue, Ask Russert to ask the president why the one of the members of the Commission is Laurence Silberman... someone who has historically been less interested in fairness and accuracy and consistently about doing favors for his Republican benefactors

As Orcinus points out, some of Silberman's career highlights are as follows:

  • He helped facilitate the "October Surprise" through which the Reagan presidential campaign began negotiations (while not even elected yet) to release the American hostages from Tehran - but not until Reagan's inauguration... an act which set the stage for the Iran-Contra Affair

  • He overturned Oliver North's conviction for his part in the Iran Contra affair on an alleged technicality --Funny how the "tough on crime" republican party always rails on and on about people getting off on technicalities to get around the law when it is the same means that they use to achieve most, if not all, of their political goals

  • Conspired with another judge to have the original special prosecutor in the Clinton scandal replaced with Ken Starr

  • Blocked Clinton's defense team from trying to investigate the source of press leaks from Starr's office and blocked any of their attempts at discovery in the matter --again, apparently the law is mutable and malleable to Silberman where matters of partisan political agenda are at stake

If little Timmy doesn't ask the hard questions and starts sucking up like Wolf Blitzer did with Cheney, we'll know he's a whore too.
